Aims & scope
GARCH publishes research on how technological change, institutional arrangements, and public policy shape capital allocation, market dynamics, and financial risk.
The journal welcomes theoretical, empirical, methodological, and critical review contributions in finance and economics. Its principal areas include financial markets and intermediation; volatility, forecasting, and risk transmission; artificial intelligence and technological transformation; climate and energy finance; corporate finance, restructuring, and fiduciary institutions; and market design and regulation.
GARCH places particular emphasis on economically meaningful questions, clearly articulated mechanisms, and transparent, reproducible evidence. It welcomes research across countries, markets, and institutional settings, including studies that connect financial outcomes with developments in the real economy.
Research contributions
Research articles develop substantive findings through theory, empirical evidence or methodological advances. Critical reviews connect findings across studies and establish a clear analytical contribution. Institutional and policy studies explain how rules, contracts and organizational arrangements change economic outcomes.
