GARCH · Journal in preparation

Editorial policies

The framework for the journal being established.

These policies describe the intended editorial process. Public submissions are not yet open, and no articles have been accepted or published by the journal.

Review and editorial decisions

Research articles will undergo editorial screening followed by independent external peer review. The planned process uses at least two reviewers and single-anonymous review: reviewers can see author identities, while reviewer identities are withheld from authors. Critical reviews and methodological articles will follow the same process. Editorials and publisher notices will be explicitly identified.

Authors will receive an editorial decision and the substantive review comments. Revisions will be assessed against those comments. Submission, revision, acceptance and publication dates will reflect actual events.

Conflicts and independence

Authors, editors and reviewers must disclose relevant financial, professional and personal interests. A conflicted editor will recuse themselves. Papers by editors or the publishing institution will be handled independently. Affiliation with GARCH Institute will not confer preferential acceptance.

Originality and related work

Authors must disclose related manuscripts, prior repository versions and overlapping datasets. Preprints are eligible for consideration. A manuscript under consideration at another journal may not be submitted concurrently. Work previously published as a journal article requires explicit justification and any necessary permission; it will not be presented as new research.

Evidence, data and code

Research articles should provide an account of sources, measurement, analysis and material limitations. Data and code needed to reproduce findings should be made available where rights and confidentiality permit. Restrictions must be explained, and availability statements must describe materials that actually exist.

Authorship, funding and ethics

All listed authors must approve the manuscript and its submission. Contributions, funding and competing interests must be disclosed. Research involving participants, personal data or other activities requiring approval must report the applicable ethics and consent arrangements.

AI-assisted work

Authors remain responsible for all content, analysis and citations. Material use of generative AI should be disclosed with its purpose. AI systems cannot be named as authors. Reviewers and editors must not disclose confidential manuscripts to external AI services without authorization.

Access, copyright and identifiers

The journal is being developed for open online access. Copyright ownership and the applicable licence will be stated on each published article after author agreement. Existing preprint identifiers will be retained and linked to the journal version. No ISSN or journal DOI is claimed before assignment or registration.

Corrections, retractions and appeals

Substantive corrections will be dated and linked to the affected article. Retractions will retain the article's bibliographic record and explain the reason. Authors may appeal a decision with specific grounds; a person not involved in the original decision will assess the appeal. Concerns may be sent to dr@garch.press.

Preservation and privacy

A preservation arrangement will be specified before articles are released. This preparatory site does not claim certified digital preservation. It has no visitor accounts, submission forms, advertising or analytics scripts. Hosting services may process routine access logs; email correspondence is used to address the enquiry.

Fees

No payments are collected through this website. The journal's fee policy will be stated before submissions open, and authors will be told of any applicable charges before submitting.
